We are pleased to inform our genealogists that, in accordance with its research regulations, the Diocesan Archives of Pécs has made the complete series of parish registers—which form part of the Diocese of Pécs’s parish archives—publicly accessible for research on the MATRICULA platform for Hungarian ecclesiastical archives. “IV. Access to Archival Materials, Research Restrictions – Section 14(b) In the case of church records, baptismal records may be accessed 90 years after their creation, marriage and confirmation records 60 years after their creation, and death records 30 years after their creation.”

Thus, this year (2026), baptismal records in the Diocese of Pécs can be searched back to 1936, marriage records to 1966, and death records to 1996.

The online archival materials of the Diocese of Pécs will be accessible starting September 1, 2026, through MATRICULA, the national research database of Hungarian ecclesiastical archives.
